What Does July 4th Mean to You?

On July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress formally adopted the Declaration of Independence, marking the birth of the United States of America. This historic document, primarily authored by Thomas Jefferson, boldly proclaimed the colonies’ freedom from British rule and laid the foundation for a new nation rooted in liberty, equality, and self-governance.

Signed in Philadelphia, the declaration was a revolutionary act that inspired not just Americans, but freedom movements across the globe.
