Can I get accepted into nursing school with a low GPA?

It is possible to get into nursing school with a low GPA. First, be prepared to explain why your GPA was lower than the required level. If it was for a specific reason, write a personal statement to explain why it happened and point out your grades outside of that event, including your performance in courses more relevant to nursing school. You also can also meet with an admissions counselor and ask for advice or repeat one or more prerequisite classes to raise your GPA. Finally, you can apply to a nursing program with lower GPA requirements or pursue a similar career, such as certified nursing assistant (CNA), which tends to have lower academic requirements.
